Albert Hemmo, born July 8, 1934 in Cairo, Egypt, is an Israeli former basketball player and coach. He is 6 ft 4 in tall and Jewish. He moved to Israel in 1948 after playing basketball in Cairo for Maccabi Cairo.

Playing career
Hemmo played in Israel’s Premier League for 15 seasons (1954–1981) with Hapoel Haifa, Hapoel Ramat Gan, Hapoel Gvat and Hapoel Megido. He won the Israeli Premier League three times (1974–1976) and the Israeli State Cup in 1975, and was the league’s top scorer in 1960. He also played for the Israeli national team in the 1959, 1961 and 1963 European Championships and the 1964 European Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Coaching career
Hemmo also had a long coaching career from the mid-1960s to the late 1980s. He led the Israeli national team from 1973 to 1975 and coached several clubs, including Hapoel Gvat, Maccabi Ramat Gan, Hapoel Haifa, Hapoel Megido, Elitzur Tel Aviv, Elitzur Kiryat Ono and Hapoel Ramat Gan.

Personal life
Professionally, Hemmo was a policeman and rose to deputy chief of police in the Yarkon region.
