Ahu Antmen
Ahu Antmen Akiska (born 1971 in Mersin) is a Turkish writer, translator, academic and columnist. She earned her degree at Istanbul University in 1994, completed a master's at Goldsmiths College, University of London (1994–1995), and received her PhD in Art History from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (2002–2005).
She is a professor at Marmara University’s Fine Arts Faculty, teaching 20th‑century art, art criticism and theory, and contemporary art practice, as well as contemporary Turkish art. She also teaches at Sabancı University in the Faculty of Art and Social Sciences.
Her research covers cultural transitions and translations, the body as a sociopsychological tool in performance, gender inequality in art history, and issues of self, identity and gender in modern and contemporary art. She has organized exhibitions on these topics.
