Aglamesis Brothers, commonly called Aglamesis, is a family-owned ice cream parlor in Cincinnati, Ohio, with three locations: Oakley, Montgomery, and Hamilton.

Founded in 1908 by Greek immigrant brothers Thomas and Nicholas Aglamesis, the shop began in Norwood as The Metropolitan. They opened Oakley in 1913; the Norwood location closed in 1917. A second shop in Montgomery opened in 1970, and a third location in Hamilton was announced in 2024.

Today the business is run by the founders’ grandchildren. They sell ice cream, candy, and milkshakes, and they still make ice cream from scratch and hand-dip chocolates. Their Opera Cream candy is especially popular.

The Oakley location still retains many original features from its 1913 opening, including a hand-laid tile floor, a tin ceiling, marble-topped tables, a candy counter, a soda fountain, Tiffany lamps from the 1920s, and heart-shaped-back chairs.

Aglamesis is known as one of Cincinnati’s few remaining old-fashioned ice cream parlors and has earned national attention over the years, with features in press and exhibits highlighting its history and Greek immigrant heritage.
