Against the Tide (TV series)
Against the Tide (Chinese: 逆潮) is a Singaporean Mandarin-language psychological thriller drama produced for MediaCorp Channel 8. The 23-episode series aired from 24 September to 24 October 2014, with each episode about 45 minutes long. The show features different crime cases, each lasting 3–5 episodes and centered on a main character.
Plot: Acclaimed novelist Di Shen believes humans are inherently depraved and aims to expose evil. During a TV interview, a girl escapes from captivity after being abused. Police officers Zhou Jianfeng and Guo Jingcheng struggle to get information, so they seek help from psychiatrist Qiu Xueqing. Through hypnosis, Xueqing discovers the killer had a copy of Di Shen’s novel. She asks Di Shen to help solve the case, suspecting an imitator, while Jianfeng suspects Di Shen himself.
Cast: Christopher Lee, Rui En, Desmond Tan, Paige Chua, Zhang Zhenhuan, Xu Bin, Carrie Wong, Zheng Geping.

Reception: The series averaged about 937,000 viewers, ranking as the 7th most-watched drama of 2014. It received 16 nominations at the Star Awards 2015 and won 3 awards: Best Programme Promo, Best Director, and Best Cameraman.
