Malika Rural Municipality, Myagdi
Malika Rural Municipality (Nepali: मंगला गाँउपालिका) is a rural municipality in Myagdi District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. In 2017, Nepal reorganized local government, replacing VDCs with municipalities and rural municipalities. Malika is one of 753 local units created.
The municipality covers 147 square kilometers and had a population of 19,208 people at the 2011 census.
Languages: Nepali is spoken by 98.4%, Magar by 1.4%, and other languages by 0.3%.
Ethnicity/caste: Magar 57.6%, Kami 26.9%, Damai/Dholi 4.3%, Hill Brahmin 4.0%, Chhetri 2.2%, Gurung 1.3%, and smaller shares of Chhantyal, Thakali, Kisan, Sarki, Thakuri, Newar, Musalman, Tamang, and others.
Religion: Hindu 75.9%, Buddhist 21.6%, Christian 2.2%, Muslim 0.1%, Prakriti 0.1%, others 0.1%.
Literacy: 70.2% can read and write, 1.7% can only read, and 28.0% cannot read.
