Advice is Taemin’s third Korean extended play, released on May 18, 2021, by SM Entertainment. It features five songs, including the lead single “Advice,” and was produced by Cutfather, PhD, Moonshine, Ryan S. Jhun, and others. The title track is an R&B song with piano flourishes and a choir over a trap beat.

The EP also includes:
- If I Could Tell You, a dreamy R&B-pop duet with Taeyeon
- Light, a groovy dance-pop track produced by Moonshine
- Strings, an R&B song with arpeggio guitar riffs
- Sad Kids, a midtempo pop song in a minimalist guitar arrangement

Taemin premiered the title track during his Never Gonna Dance Again tour on May 2, and concept teasers appeared on SHINee’s social media from May 10–13. He held a live V Live event on May 18 to introduce the songs and promoted the title track with performances on M Countdown, Show! Music Core, and Inkigayo. Critics praised the release for its creativity and androgynous aesthetic, with Tamar Herman of the South China Morning Post highlighting Taemin’s charisma and versatility. The EP came out ahead of his military enlistment, following his 2020 studio album Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 2.
