Adonis A. Kyrou (Greek: Άδωνις Α. Κύρου) was a Greek filmmaker and writer who used the name Ado Kyrou. He was born on October 18, 1923, in Athens, and died on November 4, 1985, in Paris. He came from a publishing family; his father was Achilleus A. Kyrou and his grandfather Adonis Kyrou owned the Estia newspaper. In December 1945 he moved to Paris with other Greek intellectuals on the Mataroa voyage. In Paris he worked as a film critic, filmmaker, and author. His books include Le Surréalisme au cinéma (1953), Amour – érotisme et cinéma (1957), and L'Âge d'or de la carte postale (1966). The last two were published by Le Terrain Vague, Eric Losfeld's publishing house. He also contributed to the French film magazine Positif.
