Aditi
Aditi is a key goddess in Hinduism. She is the goddess of the sky, space, consciousness, the past and the future, and fertility. She is the mother of the Adityas, a group of sun-like gods, and is called the mother of many deities. She represents the boundless cosmos and is linked to space and sacred speech. Some traditions see her as a feminine form of Brahma or as the primal source of creation.
In the Rigveda, she is mentioned many times as a protective, mothering figure who can bless with safety and abundance. She is the daughter of Daksha and Asikni and, with the sage Kashyapa, had many children: the Adityas including Varuna, Mitra, Aryaman, Surya, Bhaga, Savitr, Dhatri, and Vamana, among others; she is also the mother of the Rudras and Vasus in some lists, and of the avatar Vamana.
Her mount is a phoenix, and she is said to carry weapons like a trishula (trident) and a sword in some stories. Aditi appears in many legends as a nurturing mother who protects those who seek her help, granting wealth, safety, and good fortune.
