Culture of Peace Festival
Culture of Peace Festival in Israel is a week-long event held every May since 2001. It mainly takes place at Tel Aviv’s Tzavta Hall, which helps produce the festival, and it also features performances at venues around the country, including the Migdal David museum in Jerusalem and the Petah Tikva culture hall, with events in Nazareth, Sakhnin, Akko and Haifa.
The festival is a meeting point for artists from different cultures and beliefs to collaborate in music, theatre and visual arts. It also includes street performances, children’s theatre and multi-cultural collaborations.
Each year the program blends Jewish, Arab, Christian and other religious music, Arab and Hebrew theatre, Oriental dance, and both Western and Eastern classical music.
The festival is supported by the Rosa Luxemburg fund and the Havatzelet fund, and is produced by Tzavta. Its founder and artistic director is Eli Grunfeld.
