Abhishek Bachchan filmography
Abhishek Bachchan is an Indian actor and film producer known for his work in Hindi films. He made his acting debut opposite Kareena Kapoor in Refugee (2000), where his portrayal of an unnamed refugee earned a Filmfare Best Male Debut nomination. His early films Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai (2001) and Shararat (2002) flopped at the box office.
His career improved in 2004 with Yuva, where he played a gangster, and Dhoom, where he played a police officer. Yuva won him his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, while Dhoom became one of the year’s biggest hits and his first commercial success.
In 2005, Bachchan teamed up with his father in Sarkar and Bunty Aur Babli. Bunty Aur Babli was the second highest-grossing film of the year, and his performance in Sarkar earned him a second Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also appeared in the Bengali film Antarmahal (2005).
2006 was a key year: he received his third consecutive Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and reprised his role in the action sequel Dhoom 2, which became the highest-grossing Bollywood film up to that point.
He next starred alongside Aishwarya Rai in Guru (2007), a drama inspired by the life of businessman Dhirubhai Ambani. In 2008, he appeared in Sarkar Raj, Dostana and Drona.
His first production was Paa (2009), starring him and his father, a comedy-drama that won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. This was followed by a brief downturn with flops Delhi-6 (2009), Raavan (2010) and Game (2011). The comedy Bol Bachchan (2012), co-starring Ajay Devgn, proved to be his first box-office success since Paa. He later had supporting roles in two of India’s biggest hits – Dhoom 3 (2013) and Happy New Year (2014).
After the 2016 comedy Housefull 3, Bachchan took a break and made a comeback with the romantic drama Manmarziyaan (2018).
