Abdullah Al Busais
Abdullah Al Busais is a Kuwaiti poet and novelist. He was born in Kuwait and earned a Diploma in Technological Sciences. He began as a Nabatean poet, inspired by his father's salon and Bedouin storytelling. He appeared on the 2009 TV show Poet of the Million and published The Collection of Ideas, a poetry collection. He later moved from poetry to short stories and novels. In 2009 he released his first short story collection, The Diwaniya. In 2014 he published Stray Memories, which Vice magazine listed among six controversial books you should read. In 2016 he published The Taste of the Wolf, which was censored in Kuwait, but won the Best Arabic Novel Award at the Sharjah Book Fair in 2017 and was translated into Chinese by China International Press. His later novels include Lost Memory, Qaf is a Killer, and Seed is Happy, with Qaf is a Killer and Seed is Happy published by Riwayat Publishing in 2019. He has been active since 2009 and continues to write.
