Rectiostoma xuthobasis is a moth in the Depressariidae family. It was described by W. Donald Duckworth in 1971 and is found in Colombia. The wingspan is about 18–19 mm. The forewings are yellow with darker yellow scales near the base that blend with the thorax and shoulder area. There are a few light brown scales in the anal area. The edge of the yellow area is bordered by a dark brown line, followed by a broad band of iridescent blue‑violet. The front half of the forewing is dark brown with iridescent copper scales and irregular patches of blue‑violet scales. The hindwings are dark brown with a white patch along the front edge and have white and brown hair-pencils in the anal area.
