Abdul Aziz (Indian politician)
Abdul Aziz (born 1969) is an Indian politician from Assam. He is a member of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and has served in the Assam Legislative Assembly since May 21, 2021, representing the Badarpur constituency.
He comes from a Bengali Muslim family in Kanishail, Karimganj. His father was Abdul Latif, and he married Asma Begum in 1988. Before entering politics, Aziz worked as a businessman.
Aziz first contested the Assam Legislative Assembly in 2016 but lost to Jamal Uddin Ahmed. He won in 2021, defeating BJP candidate Biswarup Bhattacharjee to become the MLA for Badarpur. His residence is in West Kanishail, Karimganj, Assam.
