Abdollah Guivian (born 28 June 1960 in Tehran) is an Iranian writer and sociologist. His work focuses on the anthropology of religion, media studies, and Iranian Armenians. He founded the journal Communication Research and is often called the "father of video clips in Iran." Guivian earned an MA from the University of Tehran and a PhD from SOAS, University of London, in 2006. His doctoral thesis is "Religion, television and culture in post-revolutionary Iran." He is a professor at Iran Broadcasting University.
