2024 SA20 final
The 2024 SA20 Final was played on 10 February at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, with about 25,000 fans in attendance. Sunrisers Eastern Cape beat Durban's Super Giants by 89 runs to win their second SA20 title. SEC had won Qualifier 1, while DSG had won Qualifier 2.
SEC won the toss and bat first, finishing on 204 for 3 in 20 overs. Tom Abell scored 55 off 34 balls, with solid support from Aiden Markram (42 off 26) and Tristan Stubbs (56 off 30). Jordan Hermann added 42 off 26 as well, after Dawid Malan was dismissed early.
In reply, DSG were bowled out for 115 in 17 overs. Wiaan Mulder top-scored with 38 off 22, while Quinton de Kock scored 3 and Breetzke 18. Sunrisers’ bowling was led by Marco Jansen, who took 5 for 30, supported by Daniel Worrall (2 for 15) and Ottneil Baartman (2 for 17).
Tom Abell was named Man of the Match, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape claimed their second SA20 title. Heinrich Klaasen of Durban’s Super Giants won the season’s Player of the Season award.
