The 2022 World Triathlon Championship Series was the 14th season of the world’s top triathlon competition. It featured seven rounds for both men and women, from May 14 in Yokohama to November 26 in Abu Dhabi. The overall champion was decided by a points system: each athlete counted their four best results plus the Abu Dhabi Grand Final result.

Key highlights
- Montreal hosted a super-sprint eliminator format and doubled as the World Sprint Championships. Alex Yee and Georgia Taylor-Brown won the sprint titles. France won the Mixed Relay, with Great Britain taking silver and earning an Olympic slot.
- The Grand Final in Abu Dhabi carried extra points and prize money and also hosted world championships for elite under-23 and paratriathlon events.
- Men’s champion: Léo Bergère (France) with 4,742 points. He won the Abu Dhabi final, finishing 20 points ahead of Alex Yee for the overall title; it was Bergère’s first WTCS win.
- Women’s champion: Flora Duffy (Bermuda) with 5,106 points. Duffy retained her WTCS title, her fourth, ahead of Georgia Taylor-Brown.
- Defending champions from 2021 were Kristian Blummenfelt and Flora Duffy. Blummenfelt focused on Ironman 70.3 events in 2022 and did not feature in the WTCS title race.
- The series visited seven cities in total.
- The Abu Dhabi Grand Final also hosted the World Triathlon Para Championships, with winners in paratriathlon including Jetze Plat (men’s PTWC) and Lauren Parker (women’s PTWC).
