2021 Omaha mayoral election

The 2021 Omaha mayoral election was held on May 11, 2021. Incumbent Republican Jean Stothert was re-elected to a third term, becoming the first person in Omaha’s modern era to win three consecutive terms as mayor. The mayor’s position is officially non-partisan.

A blanket primary was held on April 6, 2021, and the top two finishers advanced to the general election on May 11. The City Council was also up for election. Council races are non-partisan, but the Council remained under Democratic control, with Districts 1–4 voting Democratic and Districts 5–6 voting Republican; District 7 elected the Republican incumbent.

In the general election, Stothert defeated challenger RJ Neary, winning about 64.8% of the vote to Neary’s 34.1%. Voter turnout was around 32.7%. The incumbent Republican in District 7 of the City Council was also re-elected.
