Baccagghju

Baccagghju, also called baccaglio, is a kind of slang based on Sicilian and Calabrian dialects. It has been used by members of the Cosa Nostra and the 'Ndrangheta in Calabria, southern Italy. Sometimes the puppeteers of the Opera dei pupi used this jargon to hide messages from the authorities. In 1897, a prostitute told judges about some of these terms.
