2016–17 Russian Bandy Super League was the 25th season of Russia’s top men’s bandy league. The season ran from 7 November 2016 to 26 March 2017 and had 12 teams. Artem Bondarenko was the top scorer with 76 goals. SKA-Neftyanik won the championship, their first Russian title, with Baykal-Energiya finishing as runners-up.

In the last regular-season game, Vodnik Arkhangelsk faced Baykal-Energiya. Vodnik, apparently trying to influence playoff matchups, started scoring own goals, and Baykal-Energiya joined in. The final score was 11–9, with all goals counted as own goals. Both Vodnik Arkhangelsk and Baykal-Energiya were sanctioned by the Russian Bandy Federation.
