The 2016 Toyota Tundra 250 was the fourth race of the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the 16th running of the event. It took place on May 6, 2016 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. The 1.5-mile tri-oval track hosted a race that was scheduled for 167 laps but extended to 170 laps due to NASCAR overtime, covering 255 miles in total.

William Byron of Kyle Busch Motorsports won in a dramatic finish after leaders Johnny Sauter and Ben Rhodes wrecked on the final lap. It was Byron’s first Truck Series win. Matt Crafton (ThorSport Racing) finished second, and Daniel Hemric (Brad Keselowski Racing) finished third.

Pole position went to John Wes Townley of Athenian Motorsports, with a lap of 30.465 seconds (177.253 mph). Matt Crafton led the most laps in the race, with 57. The race’s average speed was 108.511 mph.

Kansas Speedway is a 1.5-mile tri-oval located in the Village West area near Kansas City. It was built in 2001 and hosts two NASCAR weekends each year. The event was broadcast on FS1 with announcers Vince Welch, Phil Parsons, and Michael Waltrip, and it was also carried on MRN radio.

Ahead of the race, three practice sessions were held on May 5. Tyler Reddick was fastest in the first session (30.658 seconds, 176.137 mph), William Byron topped the second (30.569 seconds, 176.650 mph), and John Wes Townley was fastest in the final session (30.512 seconds, 176.980 mph). Qualifying on May 6 followed a single-car, two-round format; Townley won the pole in the third round with a lap of 30.465 seconds (177.253 mph). Norm Benning and Mike Harmon did not qualify.
