The 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier was held from 6 July to 26 July 2015 in Ireland and Scotland. Fourteen teams competed in 51 matches, using a round-robin format followed by playoffs.

The top six teams advanced to the qualifying round for the 2016 World Twenty20. The qualifiers were Scotland (top of Group B), Ireland (top of Group A), and through the knockout stage the Netherlands, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and Oman also joined them.

Oman made history by gaining T20I status after beating Namibia, becoming the first associate nation to qualify for a major ICC event in this format. The UAE and Nepal, who had debuted in the 2014 World Twenty20, did not qualify, though UAE later played in the 2016 Asia Cup (in a Twenty20 format).

The final was abandoned due to rain, so the Netherlands and Scotland shared the title. Player of the Tournament was Bernard Scholtz. The most runs were scored by Stephan Baard (309). The leading wicket-takers, all with 14, were John Mooney, Bernard Scholtz and Alasdair Evans.

Teams with official T20I status in the tournament included Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Afghanistan, UAE, Hong Kong, Nepal, and Papua New Guinea.
