2010 Asian Women's Handball Championship was the 13th edition of the tournament, held in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 19 to 25 December 2010. It served as the Asian qualifying event for the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil. Due to heavy snow, South Korea and Japan couldn’t arrive on time, and the schedule was moved forward. Eight teams competed: China, Kazakhstan, Iran, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Uzbekistan. The matches were played in one venue in Almaty. Kazakhstan won the championship (their second title), South Korea finished as runners-up, China came third, and Japan finished fourth. A total of 18 matches were played and 1,061 goals were scored (about 58.94 per match). The semifinalists—China, Kazakhstan, South Korea, and Japan—qualified for the 2011 World Championship.
