2007–08 Ekstraklasa
The 2007–08 Ekstraklasa, also known as the Orange Ekstraklasa for sponsorship reasons, ran from July 2007 to mid-May 2008. Wisła Kraków won the title, earning their 12th Ekstraklasa crown and 11th Polish title. They qualified for the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round. Legia Warszawa finished as runners-up.
Relegation saw Widzew Łódź, Zagłębie Sosnowiec, Zagłębie Lubin and Korona Kielce drop to Poland’s second division for the 2008–09 season. The bottom team placements and a playoff system determined final spots between the top division and the lower league for the next season.
European spots aside from Wisła Kraków went to Lech Poznań (UEFA Cup), with Legia Warsaw also entering the UEFA Cup, and Cracovia earning a berth in the Intertoto Cup.
Season details: 240 matches were played, with 577 goals scored (about 2.4 per game). Paweł Brożek was the top scorer with 23 goals. The highest attendance in a single match was 41,000 (Ruch 3–2 Górnik on 2 March 2008). Total attendance for the season was 1,758,960, averaging 7,329 per match.
