2006 Washington State Cougars football team
The 2006 Washington State Cougars football team represented Washington State University in the 2006 NCAA Division I FBS season. Led by fourth-year head coach Bill Doba, they played home games at Martin Stadium in Pullman, with one game at Qwest Field in Seattle. The Cougars finished 6–6 overall and 4–5 in the Pac-10, tying for fifth in the conference. They were No. 25 in the AP Poll at the end of October but lost their last three games. Their mascot, Butch T. Cougar, was named the 2006 CapitalOne Mascot of the Year. They were not ranked in preseason polls and were predicted to finish eighth in the Pac-10.
