The 2002 Open Romania was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts at Arenele BNR in Bucharest, Romania. It was the 10th edition, part of the ATP Tour’s International Series, and ran September 9–15, 2002 with a prize money of $356,000. The event featured 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Unseeded David Ferrer won the singles title, defeating José Acasuso 6–3, 6–2. In doubles, Jens Knippschild and Peter Nyborg beat Emilio Benfele Álvarez and Andrés Schneiter 6–3, 6–3.
