1999–2000 Princeton Tigers men's basketball team
During the 1999–2000 season, Princeton University's men's basketball team, the Tigers, was coached by Bill Carmody in his fourth year. They played home games at Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton and finished 19–11 overall, 11–3 in the Ivy League, good for second place. The Tigers used the Princeton offense and earned a bid to the 2000 National Invitation Tournament, where they were defeated in the first round by Penn State, 55–41, at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College.
A standout moment came on December 18, 1999, when Spencer Gloger hit 10 three-pointers against UAB, tying the Ivy League single‑game record for three-pointers by an Ivy player against a non-conference opponent. Chris Young was named to the All-Ivy League first team; he led the Ivy in conference field-goal percentage (55.3%) and had 90 blocked shots, among the top single-season totals in league history. The Tigers also led the nation in scoring defense for the 12th straight year, allowing 54.6 points per game.
This was Carmody’s last season as Princeton’s head coach; John Thompson III took over the following year.
