1999-2000 National Football League

The 69th National Football League (NFL) in Ireland, also known as the Church & General National Football League for sponsorship reasons, ran from 31 October 1999 to 20 May 2000. It involved 33 Gaelic football county teams.

Champions and runners-up
- Champions: Derry (5th title)
- Captain: Anthony Tohill
- Manager: Eamonn Coleman
- Runners-up: Meath
- Captain: Graham Geraghty
- Manager: Seán Boylan
- Division 2 winners: Louth

Competition format
- The 33 teams were divided into four divisions: the top 16 teams formed Divisions 1A and 1B, while the other 16 teams formed Divisions 2A and 2B.
- Each team played the other teams in its division once (home or away).
- Scoring: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.
- Promotion/relegation:
- The top two teams in Divisions 2A and 2B progressed to the Division 2 semi-finals and were promoted to Division 1.
- The bottom two teams in Divisions 1A and 1B were relegated to Division 2.
- The top two teams in Divisions 1A and 1B progressed to the NFL semi-finals.
- Tie-breaker: If teams were level on points, scoring average was used to rank them.

Final stage
- The NFL semi-finals led to the final, where Derry defeated Meath in a replay to win the title.
