Andrei Chesnokov of the Soviet Union won the title, defeating Petr Korda of Czechoslovakia in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 6–3, in Montreal, Canada. The defending champion Michael Chang was upset in the second round by Stefano Pescosolido.
