The 1970–71 Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens women's basketball team represented the University of Delaware in the 1970–71 season. It was the program’s second year as a sanctioned sport. In early 1969, the university approved women's basketball, field hockey, and swimming on an experimental two-year basis. This was the first year for head coach Mary Ann Hitchens, who had led the 1969–70 freshman team to an undefeated 5–0 record. The team finished 4–5 overall (0–0 in conference).
