1961 Solitude Grand Prix

The 1961 Solitude Grand Prix was a non-championship Formula One race held at the Solitudering near Stuttgart on 23 July 1961. The 25-lap race covered a 11.4086 km (7.089 mile) circuit, totaling 285.216 km (177.225 miles). Jo Bonnier took pole position in a Porsche with a time of 4 minutes 1.1 seconds, while the fastest lap belonged to Dan Gurney in a Porsche with 3 minutes 58.6 seconds. The race was won by Innes Ireland driving a Lotus 21, with Jo Bonnier finishing second and Dan Gurney third, both in Porsche cars. This was the 11th Solitude Grand Prix.
