1959 African Cup of Nations
The 1959 African Cup of Nations was the second edition of Africa’s continental football championship, organized by CAF. It was hosted by the United Arab Republic (the Egypt–Syria union). The tournament ran from 22 to 29 May with only three teams: United Arab Republic (hosts), Sudan, and Ethiopia. All matches were played in Cairo.
Format: A round-robin where each team played the others once.
