1925–26 National Hurling League
The 1925–26 National Hurling League was the first edition of the competition. It ran from 27 September 1925 to 16 May 1926. Seven teams played in Division 1: Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny, Laois, Limerick and Tipperary. Each team played six games (one against every other team). A win earned 2 points, a draw 1 point. The top two teams, Cork and Dublin, faced each other in the final, with Cork winning 3-7 to 1-5 to become champions. Cork also won the All-Ireland Championship in 1926, completing the league–championship double. Division 2 included Clare, Kerry, Offaly, Waterford and Wexford.
