Đức Trọng district
Đức Trọng is a rural district (huyện) in Lâm Đồng province, in Vietnam’s Central Highlands. It sits in the center of the province. The district capital is Liên Nghĩa, about 30 km south of Đà Lạt. Đức Trọng covers 902 square kilometers (348 square miles) and had a population of 161,232 in 2003.
The district is divided into one town, Liên Nghĩa, and 13 communes: Hiệp Thạnh, Hiệp An, Liên Hiệp, Bình Thạnh, N'Thôl Hạ, Tân Hội, Tân Thành, Phú Hội, Ninh Gia, Tà Hine, Ninh Loan, Đà Loan, and Tà Năng.
Two major national routes pass through Đức Trọng: Route 20 (Đà Lạt to Hồ Chí Minh City) and Route 27 (Đà Lạt to Ban Mê Thuột). There are also two highways that connect Đà Lạt with the central coastal provinces. Pongour Waterfall, known as the Seven-Floor Fall, is a popular tourist site in the district.
