Étueffont is a small commune in northeastern France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and the Territoire de Belfort department. It combines the two old villages Étueffont-Bas (founded in the 16th century) and Étueffont-Haut (founded in the 12th century); they merged into one commune on 12 June 1973. The town sits at the foot of the Vosges mountains, beside the Madeleine river, inside the Parc naturel régional des Ballons des Vosges. In the center of the village is an 18th‑century forge that now houses a Forge Museum, celebrating four generations of blacksmiths who worked there from 1843 to 1977. Étueffont covers about 112.5 square kilometers and has around 1,400 residents (2023). The elevation ranges from 399 to 915 meters. The current mayor for 2020–2026 is Alain Fessler.
