École des mines d'Albi-Carmaux
École des Mines d'Albi-Carmaux, also known as EMAC or Mines Albi, is a French public engineering grande école created in 1993. It is part of the Groupe des Écoles des Mines and joined Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) on March 1, 2012. Located in Albi on a 22-hectare campus, the school trains engineers through a generalist program with instruction in French and English. Since 2011, the engineering degree program lasts three years (instead of four) and combines technical studies with economics and social sciences, with four main fields to choose from and deeper study in the last two years. The school emphasizes innovation and sustainable development, offers international internships and study-abroad opportunities, and has partnerships with regional engineering schools to support research and PhD preparation. Since 2008 it also offers a three-year part-time training that mixes campus courses, distance learning, and work placement, and in 2011 its accreditation to award the Diplôme d'Ingénieur was renewed for six years. EMAC hosts laboratories for three research centers and maintains strong links with government and industry.
