Çukurkuyu, Niğde
Çukurkuyu is a town in Bor District, Niğde Province, Turkey. It lies on the Central Anatolian plains, just south of Melendiz Mountain, at about 1,075 meters above sea level. The population is 2,312 (2022). It is 25 kilometers from Bor and 35 kilometers from Niğde. The town was founded by semi-nomadic Turkmen tribes and became a township in 1956. The main economic activity is farming, with carpet weaving as a secondary activity. Some residents also work at a sugar refinery in Bor.
