Àlex Fernández (footballer, born 1974)
Àlex Fernández Sánchez (born 14 February 1974) is a Spanish former footballer who played as a midfielder. He was born in Palamós, Catalonia. He started his career with Palamós CF in 1992 in the Segunda División and moved to Espanyol in La Liga in 1995.
He had loan spells at Lleida and Elche, then joined Osasuna in 1998, helping them win promotion to La Liga in 1999–2000. In 2001 he returned to Espanyol for a more successful spell, staying until 2005. He finished his career with Xerez in 2006. Overall he played 273 club games and scored 23 goals, with notable time in La Liga for Espanyol and Osasuna.
