Zetech University is a private university in Kiambu County, Kenya. Its motto is Inventing the future. It offers certificates, diplomas, degrees, masters, and PhDs with flexible learning options, including online learning, part-time, and full-time study.

History: Zetech began as Zenith Technologies in a University of Nairobi dorm room in 1997. It became Zetech College in 1999, focusing on ICT courses. It worked with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in its early years. After receiving a Letter of Interim Authority in 2014, it started offering its own university programs and earned a charter in August 2022.

Leadership: The chancellor is Professor Susan Alfano, and the vice-chancellor is Professor Njenga Munene.

Campus and facilities: Zetech has three campuses — the main campus off Thika Road in Ruiru, Mang’u Campus in Mang’u, and Nairobi City Campus on Moi Avenue in Nairobi CBD. The library at the main campus seats 750 and holds about 2,500 titles, with computer-based learning, Wi-Fi, and an automated library system. The same library collections are shared with the other campuses.

Programs and admissions: The university accepts intakes in January, May, and September. Applications are online at sajili.zetech.ac.ke. It also offers digital learning through the Zetech Digital School.

Student life: Zetech has sports teams in football, basketball, rugby, volleyball, and martial arts, competing in national leagues. The men’s and women’s football teams have won UCFL titles, and the women’s basketball team is a national champion. Students also enjoy activities like scrabble, chess, table tennis, and FIFA.

Health and welfare: The university runs a Health and Counseling Centre, open 8 am to 6 pm, offering medical care and counseling and handling emergencies.
