Yoshitaka Itō

Yoshitaka Itō, born November 24, 1948, in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, is a Japanese politician with the Liberal Democratic Party. He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2009, representing Hokkaido (initially the 7th district, and by proportional representation from 2024). Before national office, Itō served as mayor of Kushiro from 2002 to 2008. He also was a member of the Hokkaido Legislative Assembly (1995–2002) and the Kushiro City Assembly (1985–1995). He studied at the Hokkaido University of Education.
