Yerra
Yerra is a rural locality in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland, Australia. It covers about 55 square kilometres and had a population of 110 people at the 2021 census (102 in 2016). The postcode is 4650 and it lies in the Australian Eastern Standard Time zone (UTC+10:00).
Yerra is located roughly 30 kilometres west-southwest of Maryborough, 59 kilometres southwest of Hervey Bay, 133 kilometres south of Bundaberg, and 257 kilometres north of Brisbane.
An old railway station on the Gayndah line, now closed, served Yerra in the past. Yerra State School opened in 1912 on a two-acre site near the railway, donated by W. Day, with the first teacher Miss McWatters, and closed in 1974.
Around 1918, the Thinoomba Provisional School building was moved to Myrtle Creek to become Myrtle Creek State School; it closed in 1929. In 1932 the building and playshed were moved to Pioneer's Rest State School in Pioneers Rest.
There are no schools currently in Yerra. The nearest government primary school is Mungar State School in nearby Mungar, and the nearest government secondary school is Aldridge State High School in Maryborough.
