Yaël Mouanga
Yaël Mouanga Boudzoumou (born 23 July 2005) is a French footballer who plays as a centre-back for Montpellier. He was born in Créteil, France, and is 1.83 m tall. After coming through Bordeaux’s youth system, he played for Bordeaux B and made his professional debut for Bordeaux in Ligue 2 on 10 May 2024 as a substitute in a 4–2 loss to Concarneau, his only first-team appearance for the club.
In August 2024 he joined Montpellier’s reserves. On 26 October 2024, manager Jean-Louis Gasset named him in Montpellier’s first team for a Ligue 1 match against Toulouse, and the next day he started in defense. Montpellier lost 3–0, but Gasset praised his effort and potential amid an injury crisis.
Mouanga was born in France and is of Congolese descent, holding both French and Congolese citizenship.
