Win in China
Win in China is a Chinese reality TV show where entrepreneurs pitch ideas to win investment. It airs on CCTV-2 on Tuesday nights and reaches about 20 million live viewers, with nearly 200 million more watching later on rebroadcasts, online, or on DVDs. The host and executive producer is Wang Lifen. The judges include well-known business leaders such as Jack Ma of Alibaba and Hugo Xiong of IDG Venture Capital. The third season aired in 2008, drawing a record 150,000 applicants. The winner and runner-up that year were both women—Xie Li and Zeng Hua. 2008 also featured Henry Winter, the first foreign contestant, who finished 10th and proposed to his girlfriend on the show. The program has also released books and DVDs featuring the judges’ advice.
