Webb Franklin (William Webster Franklin), born December 13, 1941, in Greenwood, Mississippi, is an American lawyer, judge, and former politician. A Republican, he represented Mississippi's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House from 1983 to 1987. He earned a BA from Mississippi State University in 1963 and a law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1966. Franklin served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1970, rising to major in the Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps. After practicing law in Greenwood, he became an assistant district attorney in 1972, then circuit judge for the Fourth District from 1978 to 1982. He was elected to Congress in 1982, served two terms, and was defeated in 1986 by Mike Espy. After leaving Congress, he returned to Greenwood to practice law.
