Ware Shoals Railroad was a short line in Upstate South Carolina. It connected the town of Ware Shoals to the Southern Railway and Piedmont and Northern Railway at Shoals Junction, covering about 5.2 miles. The railroad moved goods to and from a local textile mill and was mainly used to haul coal. Built in 1905 by the Southern Railway, which supplied steam locomotives, it later switched to diesel power in the late 1950s, using one ex-Southern GE 44-ton locomotive (No. 1955). The railroad shut down in 1985 when the textile mill reduced operations, and the tracks were removed in 1987.
