Walter Turbush Galligan (March 14, 1925 – December 22, 2010) was a United States Air Force lieutenant general who led United States Forces Japan and the Fifth Air Force, based at Yokota Air Base in Japan. As commander, he was the top U.S. military representative in Japan and oversaw air operations in Japan and Korea.

Galligan was born in the Bronx, New York, and finished St. Michael's Academy in 1942. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science, his pilot wings, and a commission as a second lieutenant. He flew in the Berlin airlift (1948–1949) and later held many posts around the world, including command of the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing in Vietnam and leadership roles in Europe, at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and with the USAF Security Service. His career spanned 1945 to 1977.

His awards include the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal (three times) and the Distinguished Flying Cross (twice), among others. He died December 22, 2010, in Universal City, Texas, at age 85.
