Walter Licht (born July 15, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American historian who specializes in labor history, economic history, and the history of American capitalism. He is the Walter H. Annenberg Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania. Licht earned his BA at Harvard University, an MA in sociology at the University of Chicago, and an MA and PhD in history at Princeton University. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania since 1977 and serves as the faculty director of the Civic House and the Penn Civic Scholars Program.
