Wallasey Dock

Wallasey Dock was a dock in Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula in England. It was built from 1874 and opened in 1877, replacing the earlier Great Low Water Basin. The dock sat between Alfred Dock to the north and Morpeth Dock to the south, with access to the River Mersey via East Float to the west.

The dock sheds were first used for grain storage and later for imported livestock. A pumping station was added in 1890 along the river wall. Over time the dock silted up, and by the 1960s it was no longer usable and was derelict by 1992.

In 2001 the wall and dock area were filled in to create space for a vehicle park at the Twelve Quays roll-on/roll-off ferry terminal nearby. The project was undertaken by Peel Holdings.
