Walford is a small city in eastern Iowa, located in Benton and Linn counties and part of the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area. It covers about 1.1 square miles of land and sits roughly 794 feet above sea level. In 2020, 1,366 people lived there in around 485 households.

Walford began as a town named Terry in 1884 when a railroad arrived. It was renamed Walford in 1889 to avoid confusion with another town. A notable event happened in 1897 when the general store burned down, drawing national headlines while people searched for a missing man.
