Virgil (2005 film)

Virgil is a 2005 French comedy-drama written and directed by Mabrouk El Mechri, his first feature film. It follows Virgil, a young boxer living in the suburbs of Paris. Each week he dreams of his father Ernest telling him stories about his own boxing days, and he hopes for a glance from a girl named Margot. This week, Ernest promises to come and watch Virgil fight. The problem is that Virgil hasn’t fought in three years, so he must train hard and face his past to get back in the ring.
