Van Buren Township is an inactive township in Jackson County, Missouri. It was established in 1837 and named after President Martin Van Buren. The area included some of the least densely populated parts of the county and the small communities of Lone Jack, Cockrell, Hicks City, Sni Mills, and Tarsney Lakes.
